IMD Advisory and Precautionary Measures

The IMD has urged residents and local authorities to remain vigilant, particularly in Simdega, West Singhbhum, Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Lohardaga, Latehar, Garhwa, Palamu, and Chatra, where the cyclone’s outer bands could trigger heavy downpours and strong winds.

People have been advised to stay indoors during thunderstorms and heavy rain, avoid open areas during lightning activity, and secure loose outdoor objects.

Farmers have been cautioned to delay harvesting and take preventive measures to protect standing crops from potential damage caused by gusty winds.

Disaster management authorities and district administrations across southern and central Jharkhand have been placed on high alert, with emergency response teams prepared to tackle any situation that may arise.

As Cyclone Montha continues its path toward the Andhra coast, its peripheral influence is expected to enhance rainfall activity across Jharkhand over the next few days.
