New Delhi, September 18: The Rouse Avenue Court has summoned several prominent individuals, including Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons, Tejaswi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav in the Land-for-Job money laundering case.

Tej Pratap Yadav has been summoned for the first time in relation to this case.

The court stated that Tej Pratap Yadav’s involvement could not be dismissed. While he was not initially included in the charge sheet, he served as a director at AK Infosys Ltd.

Special CBI Judge Vishal Gogne issued summons to Lalu Prasad Yadav, his two sons, and six other accused, requiring them to appear on October 7.

Court says ample evidence to continue proceedings against accused

The court has also summoned other individuals named in the charge sheet, including Akhileshwar Singh and his wife, Kiran Devi.

The court stated that there is ample evidence to continue proceedings against the accused individuals.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary charge sheet on August 6, naming 11 accused, four of whom have passed away since then.

The court has issued summons to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejaswi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, Akhileshwar Singh, Hazari Prasad Rai, Sanjay Rai, Dharmendra Singh, and Kiran Devi.

The court explained that while Akhileshwar Singh was listed as an accused by the ED, his wife Kiran Devi was not charged initially. Despite this, she is involved in the case for her role in selling land to Misa Bharti in return for a job for her son, Abhisek.

Land-for-jobs scam

The land-for-jobs scam relates to the time when Lalu Yadav served as the railway minister during the initial term of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Central level.

During the period from 2004 to 2009, the accusation is that numerous individuals were appointed to Group “D” positions across different zones of the Indian Railways. In return, these individuals allegedly transferred their land to the family members of the then railway minister Lalu Yadav and A K Infosystems Private Limited.
