New Delhi, May 18: As part of its investigation into the Swati Maliwal assault case, a team from the Delhi Police Forensic Science Laboratory arrived at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, sources said. They collected DVR recordings of CCTV footage from various locations within the residence.
Sources indicated that the investigation will also examine whether the footage was tampered with in any way.
Maliwal alleges CCTV tampering
The development transpired subsequent to Rajya Sabha MP for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Swati Maliwal, making accusations regarding the tampering of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence.
On Friday evening, Swati Maliwal took to the microblogging site X to say, “I have received information that now these people are tampering with the CCTV of the house.” In her post, Maliwal also tagged the Delhi Police.

Delhi Police recreate assault scene
Earlier on Friday evening, a team from Delhi Police, including the Additional DCP Delhi North, the Civil Lines Police Station SHO, and forensic officials, visited the Chief Minister’s residence to recreate the scene. Swati Maliwal was also summoned as part of the investigation into her alleged assault.
After conducting an investigation and videotaping the premises, the team left the CM’s home at about 2:15 in the morning on Saturday.
Bibhav Kumar files complaint against Maliwal
Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, filed a written complaint against Swati Maliwal. He accused her of unauthorized entry, verbal abuse, threats, and suggested the potential involvement of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the incident.
In his written complaint, filed on Friday, to the SHO of Civil Lines Police Station, Kumar suggested that Maliwal’s actions may have been motivated by politics, particularly in light of the current Lok Sabha elections. He also asked that Maliwal’s possible connections to BJP leaders be looked into. Kumar urged the authorities to take appropriate legal action against Maliwal.
