Dhanbad, January 5: Judicial officers of the Dhanbad civil court on Monday morning marched through the streets of the coal city to educate youth and the general public about the dangers of drug abuse.

Awareness March Held Across Key City Routes

The awareness march began from the Dhanbad Civil Court premises at 10 am and passed through major routes of the city before returning to the starting point.

Judicial officers carried banners and posters highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse and urging people to stay away from drugs.

Drug Abuse Weakens Society: Principal District Judge

Principal District and Sessions Judge Bal Krishna Tiwari, who led the march, said that drug addiction not only damages an individual’s health but also weakens families and society as a whole.

He appealed to the public, particularly the youth, to avoid social evils like drug abuse and work towards a healthy and bright future.

March Organised Under ‘DAWN’ Programme

Mayank Tushar Topno, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Civil Judge, said the awareness campaign was organised under the “DAWN” programme run by the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).

He added that the objective of the march was to create awareness about the growing menace of drug abuse. JHALSA has been continuously conducting campaigns against social evils while also promoting legal awareness in society.
