Dhanbad, April 27: Dhanbad Divisional Rail collected a record fine of over Rs 16.45 lakh from 3203 passengers travelling without tickets in a 36-hour special drive.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr DCM) of Dhanbad Rail Division Amresh Kumar said that special ticker checking drive was carried out from 8.00 am of April 24 to 8.00 pm of April 25 in different rail sections of division including Gomoh, Koderma, Daltonganj, Chopan, Barkakana and Singarauli station.
341 employees were deployed
Passengers of all up-and-down trains that crossed through these stations were screened. A total of 341 employees were deployed in this special campaign, and they caught 3203 persons and collected fines from them.

The railway officer said that in addition to ticketless travellers, unauthorised travellers and passengers travelling with goods without booking were also fined.
“The main aim of this special checking campaign is to enhance ticket sales on counters and encourage passengers to travel with proper tickets next time in future,” said Sr DCM Amresh Kumar.
The senior DCM led the special checking campaign. The Chief Ticket Inspector (CTI), International Railway Transport Committee (CIT) checking staff, and others were members of special drive teams.
