Ranchi, August 24: BJP state president Babulal Marandi today said that the Congress is responsible for the damage done to the unity and integrity of this country.

“Congress party can go to any extent for power. Today assembly elections have been announced in Jammu and Kashmir. Congress party, which has repeatedly played with the unity and security of the country for power, has allied with the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir elections,” he said.

Addressing a press conference in Hazaribag, Marandi asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his allies i.e. the JMM in Jharkhand whether they support the promises made in the manifesto of the National Conference (NC).

NC’s promise of a separate flag

Marandi asked whether Congress and Rahul Gandhi support the National Conference’s promise of a separate flag in Jammu and Kashmir, JKNC’s decision to push Jammu and Kashmir back into the era of unrest and terrorism by bringing back Article 370 and Article 35A, promoting separatism again by talking to Pakistan in exchange for Kashmiri youth, nurturing terrorism and its ecosystem from across the border by National Conference’s decision to start ‘LoC trade’ with Pakistan, bringing back the era of terrorism, terror and shut down by reinstating the family members of those involved in terrorism and stone-pelting incidents in government jobs, once again throwing the economy of Jammu and Kashmir into the fire of corruption and handing it over to a few Pakistan-backed families?

He asked whether the Congress wants ‘Shankaracharya Parvat’ to be known as ‘Takht-e-Suliman’ and ‘Hari Parvat’ to be known as ‘Koh-e-Maran’.

“Does Congress support this? Does the Congress party support JKNC’s politics of discrimination between Jammu and the Valley? Do Congress and Rahul Gandhi support JKNC’s divisive thinking and policies of giving autonomy to Kashmir?” he asked.

He said that the anti-reservation face of the Congress party has come to the fore through this alliance. “Is the Congress with the National Conference’s promise to end the reservation of Dalits, Gujjars, Bakarwals and Paharis and do injustice to them again? It should be made public,” he said.
