Ranchi, August 22: A major case of negligence has come to light at RIMS, Jharkhand’s largest government healthcare institution.

A first-year postgraduate doctor from the gynecology department fell critically ill after drinking tea from the Ortho canteen.

Her condition is said to be serious, and she is currently on ventilator support in the ICU.

According to reports, the woman doctor had completed her MBBS from RIMS itself and had recently taken admission in the PG program.

On Thursday late night, while on duty, she ordered tea from the canteen along with some colleagues. Soon after drinking it, she suffered a sudden reaction and her health began to deteriorate.

Considering the seriousness of her condition, she was first rushed to the central emergency unit and later shifted to the critical care ICU, where she remains on ventilator support. A team of doctors is closely monitoring her condition.
