Jharkhand Badminton Championship kicks off in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh, August 22: The Jharkhand State Badminton Championship began today at the Indoor Stadium in Hazaribagh with several exciting matches across categories.

In the men’s singles, Emmanuel J. Kujur of West Singhbhum and Ujjwal Paswan of Jamshedpur cruised to comfortable victories in their opening matches. Kujur defeated Aniket Kumar of Bokaro 15-7, 15-6, while Paswan overcame Anish Kujur of Ranchi 15-3, 15-13.

In the women’s singles, Dhanbad’s Shruti edged past Prajuka Chakraborty of Hazaribagh in a close three-set contest, while Anamika Ghosh of Dhanbad outclassed Vaishnavi Singh of Deoghar in straight sets.

The boys’ under-19 category also witnessed keenly fought encounters, with Ranchi’s Samvith Ramesh and Sagar Banjara among the early winners.
