THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Delhi Public School, Ranchi, hosted a Painting Workshop organized by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Regional Centre Ranchi, as part of the nationwide initiative Seva Parv 2025, under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
This initiative draws its inspiration from the dream of a Developed India by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The workshop, themed ‘Viksit Bharat’, witnessed participation from 100 students representing 15 schools of Jharkhand.
The event was graced by Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, and Member of Parliament, as the Chief Guest. The programme also witnessed the presence of C.P. Singh, MLA, Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, as the Guest of Honour.

Adding cultural richness to the event were the special guests Padmashree Mukund Nayak and Padmashree Mahavir Nayak, who inspired the participants with their art and experience.
The workshop was further supported by Dr. Kumar Sanjay Jha, Regional Director (IGNCA), and Dr. Kamal Bose, while the paintings were meticulously judged by an esteemed panel of experts.
Sanjay Seth encouraged the young artists to envision a progressive India through their creativity. He emphasized the importance of art in shaping cultural identity and expressed his hope that initiatives like Seva Parv would nurture patriotism and a sense of civic responsibility among students.
C.P. Singh lauded DPS Ranchi for providing a platform for students to explore their artistic talents. He remarked that such workshops are essential for fostering a strong connection between young minds and India’s rich cultural heritage.
Padmashree Mukund Nayak inspired the participants by highlighting the power of art in storytelling and preserving folk traditions. He encouraged the students to continue expressing their vision of a developed India through creative mediums.
Padmashree Mahavir Nayak appreciated the young talent and emphasized the role of art in reflecting the hopes and dreams of the nation. He urged students to imbibe discipline and dedication while pursuing creative excellence.

Dr. Jaya Chauhan, Principal, DPS Ranchi, expressed her delight at the overwhelming participation and praised the collaborative efforts of IGNCA and DPS Ranchi in making the workshop a success. She highlighted the importance of nurturing creativity alongside academic pursuits for holistic development.
The winners of the event will be awarded cash prizes of ₹10,000, ₹5,000, and ₹2,500, along with two consolation prizes of ₹1,000 each.
The programme culminated on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, followed by a Vote of Thanks.
