DPS Ranchi nursery & prep students showcase talent at annual day

Ranchi, Feb 20: DPS Ranchi’s Nursery and Prep students participated in their Annual Day celebrations at the Vivekananda Auditorium.

The event featured performances by 560 students and was attended by Mohammad Arshi (IPS, Commandant JAP 07, Hazaribagh) as the chief guest and Badal Raj (DSE, Ranchi) as the Guest of Honour.

The programme began with a welcome song, followed by the lighting of the lamp and a sapling presentation to the guests. Principal R. K. Jha addressed the audience, emphasizing the school’s focus on integrating academics with extracurricular activities to develop critical thinking, confidence, and teamwork. He also outlined the school’s activities and achievements during the 2024-25 academic session and highlighted efforts to provide holistic development and life skills training.

Class Prep students performed a dance titled ‘The Highlanders,’ demonstrating the importance of games in personal development. Their act incorporated elements of kite flying, kabaddi, ludo, chess, and ice hockey, highlighting teamwork, leadership, and social skills.

The school also launched the Primary Wing’s magazine, ‘DIPS TIME,’ a collection of stories, articles, poems, and artwork created by students.

The Chief Guest commended the students for their participation and spoke about the importance of balancing academics with co-curricular activities. He acknowledged the school’s efforts in providing opportunities for students to engage in both scholastic and non-scholastic activities.

The event concluded with a performance by Class Nursery, titled ‘The Giggles,’ featuring dance sequences and skits. The program included music, costumes, and props, and the audience responded with applause throughout the event.
