Ranchi, Feb 10: Veteran mentor and medical professional Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh from Ranchi has been selected as a member of the 30-member elite panel of the Journal of the Indian Medical Association (JIMA).
Dr. Prasant Kumar Bhattacharya, the national secretary of JIMA, has released the names of the Advisory Committee members and requested JIMA editor Dr. Kalol Sen to connect with them. Their expertise and guidance will be utilized to enhance the journal’s publication quality.
JIMA publishes original research papers and case reports by doctors across the country.

Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, coordinator of the Jharkhand chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and former national vice-president of IMA, is the only member from Jharkhand selected for the JIMA Advisory Committee. From Bihar, Dr. D.P. Singh of Bhagalpur has been included in the panel.

Dr. Singh’s selection is expected to benefit medical teachers and research scholars in Jharkhand by increasing opportunities for their research papers to be published in JIMA. The lack of research publications in recognized journals has sometimes led to the rejection of senior teachers’ promotions by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
A veteran plastic surgeon in Jharkhand and Bihar, Dr. Singh is regarded as one of the most experienced professionals guiding the IMA national body and its various panels for the welfare of medical professionals.
The office bearers of the Jharkhand chapter of IMA, the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA), the Junior Doctors Association (JDA), and the IMA Junior Doctors Network (JDN) state body have congratulated Dr. Singh. They stated that his selection to the JIMA Advisory Committee is a proud moment for the state’s medical fraternity.
