Deoghar, Oct 5: Prof. (Dr) Lalit Minj of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital (MGMMCH), Jamshedpur, has been elected as the new President of the Bihar–Jharkhand Plastic Surgeons Association (BJPSA) for the 2025–26 session.
The announcement was made at the 14th Annual Conference of BJPSA (BJASICON), which concluded on Sunday at Maihar Garden Resort, Deoghar.
New Team Takes Charge
Dr Veena Singh of AIIMS Patna has been elected President (Elect), while Dr Pranav Kumar of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMCH), Bhagalpur, will serve as Secretary-General.
Dr Veena Singh, who is also the Director of ESI Hospital, will assume the role of President next year, succeeding Dr Minj.
Conference Organising Committee President Dr Sanjay Gupta said that Dr J. Onkar Deo has been chosen as Treasurer. At the same time, Dr Setu Bandhu Tiwari of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and Dr Vikrant Ranjan of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) have been appointed as Executive Members.

He added that the full committee will be formed soon to ensure smooth execution of the association’s activities across Bihar and Jharkhand.
Senior Doctors Hail the New Leadership
Patron of BJPSA Dr Ajoy Kumar Singh of Ranchi, Indian Medical Association (IMA) National Vice-President (Headquarters, New Delhi) Dr Dhanwantri Tiwari, Organising Committee President Dr Sanjay Gupta, and IMA Deoghar Chapter Secretary, Dr Gauri Shankar, congratulated the newly elected office bearers.
They expressed confidence that the new team would bring renewed energy and innovation to plastic surgery care in both states.
“The team is balanced and inspiring. It gives us hope that they will significantly promote plastic surgery treatment in the region,” said Dr Ajoy Kumar Singh, former IMA National Vice-President.
24 Experts Share Insights
The concluding day of the two-day conference saw 24 eminent plastic surgeons from across the country deliver lectures on various aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
The speakers included Dr Vikrant Ranjan, Dr G. Karthikeyan, Dr Veena Singh, Dr R. Raman, Dr Prince Gupta, Dr Vijay Kumar, Dr R. Bharat, Dr R. P. Choudhary, Dr Sweta, Dr Anant Sinha, Dr Pranav Kumar, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr Kudeep Kumar, Dr Vikash Kumar, Dr Mamta, Dr Mithilesh, Dr Rajat, Dr Vivek, Dr Nriti, Dr Ashita Kohli, Dr Shivam, Dr Sidharth and Dr Nikita Birua.
The conference opened with an inaugural address by Patron Dr Ajoy Kumar Singh of Ranchi.
