The 25-year-old had already showcased his leadership skills when he led England against Australia last September in Buttler’s absence.
Despite England narrowly losing the series 3-2, Brook impressed by emerging as the highest run-scorer, amassing 312 runs in five matches at an average of 78.00 and a strike rate exceeding 127, including one century and two fifties.

Brook has been a crucial part of England’s white-ball setup since 2022 and continues to shine across all formats. He currently holds the second spot in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings.
