Dhanbad, Aug 6: The Jharkhand State Badminton Championship, which will also serve as the selection trial for the East Zone Inter-State Tournament, is scheduled to take place in Hazaribag from August 22 to 24.
Jharkhand Badminton Association secretary K. Prabhakar Rao announced that the event will feature men’s and women’s singles and doubles, mixed doubles, as well as under-19 boys’ and girls’ singles, doubles, and mixed doubles categories.

“Based on players’ performance in this championship, the Jharkhand team for the East Zone Inter-State Championship will be selected,” said Rao, who also serves as the joint secretary of the Badminton Association of India (BAI).

The last date for submitting entry forms is August 18. Players with invalid BAI IDs will not be permitted to participate in the tournament.
Hazaribag District Badminton Association general secretary Yasvir Jaggi stated that a meeting of the district body will be held soon to finalize preparations for the event.

He added that in 2021, Hazaribag successfully hosted the state championship, providing the best facilities to participants.
