Jharkhand News: Sona Devi University secures 2nd place at Electrotex 2025

Jamshedpur, August 5: Students from the Diploma Second Semester of Sona Devi University secured second place at the Electrotex 2025 Technical Model Exhibition.

The event was organized by B.A. College of Engineering and Technology, Galudih, and witnessed participation from nearly 40 models representing various universities and colleges across Jharkhand.

Team “Solutions Warriors” from Sona Devi University presented an innovative Firefighting Robot, which was highly appreciated by experts for its creativity and practical utility.

The model was evaluated by a committee led by Anurag Saxena, Chief of Electrical Maintenance at Tata Motors, who served as a technical expert and judge for the event.

The award-winning team included Diploma students Aman Das, Gautam Mahali, Subhodeep Roy, and Gautam Das, developed the robot.

Their teamwork, creativity, and coordination stood out during the competition.

Pooja Tiwari, Head of the School of Engineering and Technology at SDU, praised the students for their collective effort and highlighted their strong team coordination as a key factor in their success.

In addition to the diploma students, participants from the B.Tech second semester of Sona Devi University also presented their own models during the exhibition.

Congratulating the team, University Registrar Gulab Singh Azad extended his best wishes and assured that the university administration would continue to support students in their innovative endeavors, including the development of future technical models.

Prayer Held in Memory of Shibu Soren

A prayer meeting was organized on Tuesday at Sona Devi University, Ghatshila, to pay tribute to the late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren.

Chancellor Prabhakar Singh expressed deep sorrow over his demise, stating that his passing marks the end of an era in both state and national politics.

He prayed for strength for the bereaved family and urged everyone to follow the path shown by Guruji, who dedicated his life to the upliftment of tribal and marginalized communities.

The event was attended by Registrar Gulab Singh Azad, heads of departments, faculty members, and staff.
