Health is the real wealth, says ex-Jharkhand CM Arjun Munda

Jamshedpur, Sept 20: Health took centre stage today in Kuchai block in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where the Adivasi Welfare Trust organised its first-ever free health and eye check-up camp at Dalbhanga High School Ground. Hundreds of villagers attended to consult specialist doctors, undergo tests, and receive guidance on maintaining their health.

Dozens of patients diagnosed with serious eye conditions were shortlisted during the camp. They will undergo free surgeries tomorrow at Purnima Netralaya, with transport arranged by the Trust.

Earlier, on September 13, more than 250 villagers had their blood samples collected at the same venue. Reports from those tests helped doctors provide detailed consultations and advice on disease prevention.

“Health Is Life’s Greatest Asset”

Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, attending as the chief guest, reminded villagers of the importance of well-being.
“Health is life’s greatest asset. When we are healthy, both body and mind remain happy. Regular checkups, a balanced diet, and hygiene are the keys to a happy life,” he said.

A team of doctors from Ranchi—Dr S.K. Pal, Dr Anupam Kumar Singh, Dr S.N. Mukherjee, Dr Vijay Agarwal, Dr Ravi Daulat—along with Bipin Kumar and his team from Purnima Netralaya, extended their services free of cost.

The event was coordinated by Madhavi Jawanpuria, an 11th-grade student of Loyola School, Jamshedpur. She worked tirelessly for three months to make the program a success.

Trust Secretary Abhishek Munda said, “This is our Trust’s first health camp. Inspired by my father’s dedication to social service, we plan to organise such camps regularly in rural and tribal areas to provide primary healthcare.”

Strong Community Support

The successful event was made possible by contributions from Abhishek Singh Munda (Secretary), Madhavi Jawanpuria (Coordinator), Ganesh Solanki (Treasurer), Abhijeet Singh Munda, Jitendra Rai, Lakhi Ram Munda, Vidisha Jawanpuria, Satyendra Singh, and Rahul Das.

Special guests included Meera Munda, District President Uday Singhdev, former MLA Mangal Singh Soy, former District President Vijay Mahato, Ramnath Mahato, and Bobby Singh.

The Adivasi Welfare Trust’s first camp did more than deliver medical services—it also sparked awareness about the value of health among villagers in one of Jharkhand’s most remote regions.
