Hemant govt in serious trouble, will not survive after December: Saryu Roy

THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi. Chief patron of the Bhartiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has said that from the indications and the kind of information coming in, it seems that the Hemant government of Jharkhand may hardly remain intact till December.

He also said that the Jharkhand government is not working legally. “Corruption is increasing very fast and despite complaining to the government, there is no effect,” he added.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the representatives’ conference organized under the aegis of the Morcha at Krishna Palace on Sunday.

Roy said that people question the intentions of ED. “People ask me that ED takes action only against opposition parties. Doesn’t ED work in a biased manner? It is possible that the allegations of biased attitude towards ED may be true, but are the things, facts, and documents that ED is bringing out also wrong?” he asked.

Saryu Roy said that various things are being said across the country regarding ED. “Even today, the same is being done but my question is that if ED has taken any action against them, if any falsity has been found in that action, then it should be made public. If someone is doing corruption then ED will take action. If you feel that there is something wrong with the action of ED, then you should keep the evidence in the public domain,” he maintained.

The Jamshedpur East MLA said that corruption has increased a lot in Jharkhand. “Strict action should be taken against whoever is promoting corruption. I told the chief minister several times in writing that irregularities are taking place here, but the chief minister does not have time to correct those irregularities or take action. A chief minister who does not have time to investigate irregularities and punish the culprits should not hold the post of chief minister,” he contended.

He said that he presented facts with evidence in the Assembly but no action was taken on them.

“Despite the Speaker’s instructions, no action was taken. He said that whatever the corruption charges, the government immediately constitutes a committee and asks it to submit a report within 30 days. It is necessary but in Jharkhand, no report comes for three years. Which way is this to work? When the committee did not submit its report, what action did you take? Nothing. The government wants to hide things. On the drug scam, I presented things with evidence in the Assembly, and things were proven. The Speaker even gave instructions but no action has been taken till now. If the government runs like this then you will lose control over the administration. This is still happening. The government is not able to stop things even if it wants to. Therefore we feel that this government will be able to cross the month of December. The government is in serious trouble,” he pointed out.

He further said that he was not against the Khatian of 1932. “If you want to do it then do it but you have to understand whatever has happened in this state between 1932 and 2023. Don’t forget it. If you forget that, the state will not function. People show their Khatiyan. We have no problem with that. It is the responsibility of all of us to consider this Jharkhand as our state. Only then will a better future emerge,” Roy said.
