Jamshedpur, Dec 20: The ambience at the Utkal Association was filled with religious fervour as auspicious ‘Kalash’ from Ayodhya reached the Sakchi-based Sri Jagannath temple in Utkal Association on Wednesday morning.

Also called Akshat, the auspicious Kalash was brought to the steel city a week ago and is being put in various temples across the city prelude to the grand inaugural ceremony of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya scheduled to be done on January 22, 2024.

A VHP functionary Vivek Sharma and wife Pallavi brought the holy Kalash for the Sri Jagannath temple as the Utkal Association functionaries welcomed the Akshat and the couple amidst slogans like Jai Sri Ram and Jai Jagannath.

“Arrival of the Akshat in any temple is similar to an invitation to the devotees for attending the inaugural ceremony of Sri Ram temple at the Lord’s birthplace in Ayodhya, ” observed Badal Bhuyan, vice president of the Utkal Association while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

The holy Kalash has been kept at the Jagannath temple for the darshan by the people, especially by the devotees. It will be taken away for another temple in the city on Thursday morning.

Prominent among them who were present on the occasion from the Utkal Association include Pavitra Mohan Jena, Saumendra Bhuyan, Pranab Pani, JP Mohanty and Jai Prakash Lenka.
