Dhanbad, Nov 25: Amrit Sagar Chopra, a distinguished alumnus of the Mining Engineering Department from the 1961 batch of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, has made a generous contribution of ₹1 crore toward the institute’s Centenary Celebrations.

The cheque was handed over during a recent visit to Bengaluru, where it was presented to Prof. R. M. Bhattacharjee, Dean of International Relations & Alumni Affairs, and Mritunjay Sharma, Assistant Registrar (IRAA).

Chopra’s cumulative contributions reach ₹2 crore

This recent donation adds to Chopra’s earlier contribution of ₹1 crore in 2023, bringing his total contributions to the Centenary Fund to an impressive ₹2 crore. His consistent philanthropy has been highly appreciated by the institute’s officials, who acknowledged his remarkable gesture. The donation reflects his deep connection with his alma mater and his continued support for its growth and legacy.

IIT (ISM) Director Prof. Sukumar Mishra expressed his admiration for Chopra’s dedication, stating that alumni like him play a vital role in elevating the institute’s stature.
