Dhanbad, March 24: Sandarbh Singh, a B.Tech student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, has received a prestigious fully funded PhD offer from Purdue University, USA.

Purdue University, ranked 6th in the US, will provide him with a stipend of approximately USD 30,000 per year, along with full coverage of tuition fees and health insurance. His research at Purdue will focus on lithium battery systems for vertical takeoff aircraft, contributing to advancements in sustainable aviation.
An IIT (ISM) official confirmed that Sandarbh’s PhD admission includes a total funding package of around USD 70,000 per year, positioning him at the forefront of innovation in this field.

In addition to Purdue, Sandarbh also secured admission offers from other top-ranked US universities, including Carnegie Mellon University, which is ranked 7th in the country.

His selection was based on his exceptional research capabilities and an impressive interview performance with Purdue faculty, where he was assessed on his research expertise.
Sandarbh has already submitted one journal paper and is working on another on a completely different topic. His strong research background and academic potential played a decisive role in securing this prestigious PhD opportunity.
