Jamshedpur, Feb 20: Several places across Jharkhand today witnessed light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning which was due to the impact of a trough stretched between Jharkhand and Odisha.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre this morning issued a nowcast (Short-term forecast) of rain and thundershowers activity in Ranchi and several other places including Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Ramgarh, Simdega, Khunti and Seraikela-Kharsawan.

Most places today woke up to overcast conditions with early morning dense fog which disrupted surface visibility.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of isolated hail over southern and central parts of the state today.

Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) are likely at isolated places over south-eastern and adjoining Central parts of the state.
