India brings home 453 citizens from Iran and Israel

New Delhi, June 24: A total of 453 Indian nationals were safely brought back to the country today amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. The evacuation was carried out under the Government of India’s ‘Operation Sindhu’.

Of these, 161 people were evacuated from Israel via a land route through Jordan and flown to Delhi, while another 292 Indian citizens arrived from Iran on a special flight. Those returning from Israel included a large number of students, senior citizens, and working professionals.

Upon landing at Delhi Airport, the evacuees expressed their gratitude to the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs, and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Embassy for their timely assistance.

Launched to rescue Indian citizens stranded in the conflict-hit West Asia region, Operation Sindhu is being coordinated by the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian embassies, and local administrations. The government has stated that more flights will be arranged if required, ensuring no Indian remains in distress.
