New Delhi, May 10: In a firm military response to Pakistan’s intensified aggression along the Line of Control (LoC) and western border, India launched targeted airstrikes on Saturday against key Pakistani military installations.

Pakistan deployed long-range munitions, fighter jets, loitering weapons, and Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs)

India Targets Military Sites Only
The Indian strikes aimed at neutralizing command hubs, radar networks, and ammunition depots across several strategic locations in Pakistan, including Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian. Radar facilities at Sialkot and Pasrur aviation bases were also destroyed using precision-guided air-launched weapons.

The Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs jointly addressed the press, where Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi emphasized that these were focused strikes aimed solely at military infrastructure to avoid civilian casualties. She underscored India’s intent to prevent further escalation, even while countering Pakistan’s continued provocations.

According to Colonel Qureshi, Pakistan made multiple infiltration attempts across Indian airspace in over 26 locations stretching from Srinagar to Naliya, using drones and heavy-caliber weapons.
Several Indian airbases including Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda suffered damage, with personnel reportedly injured. Particularly condemnable were Pakistan’s missile strikes at 1:40 AM on a Punjab airbase, as well as attacks targeting civilian facilities such as schools and hospitals in Awantipora, Udhampur, and Srinagar.
Pakistan Moves Troops Forward
Further raising concerns, Indian authorities have confirmed troop movements by the Pakistan Army toward forward deployment zones, signaling a possible buildup for larger military action. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, addressing the briefing, affirmed that Indian forces had responded proportionately to all provocations and continue to monitor enemy movements closely.
Singh also dismissed what she called a “malicious misinformation campaign” by Pakistan, which falsely claimed the destruction of India’s S-400 air defense systems and damage to airbases in Suratgarh and Sirsa. “India unequivocally rejects these false claims being spread by Pakistan,” she asserted.
While reiterating India’s right to defend its sovereignty, both military officials stressed that the country remains committed to de-escalation, provided Pakistan shows reciprocal restraint.
