New Delhi, March 17: India has urged the United States to take firm action against the banned Khalistani organisation Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), citing concerns over its anti-India activities on American soil.

This issue was raised during a meeting between Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in New Delhi on Monday, sources told news agency ANI.
Singh and Gabbard held discussions on various aspects of defence cooperation and intelligence sharing, with a focus on strengthening bilateral ties.

Singh later shared about their meeting on X, stating, “Happy to have met the US Director of National Intelligence Ms Tulsi Gabbard in New Delhi. We discussed a wide range of issues which include defence and information sharing, aiming to further deepen the India-US partnership.”

Gabbard is on a multi-nation visit, with her Asia tour culminating in an address at the Raisina Dialogue on March 18. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally invited her to participate in this high-profile gathering of security officials in Delhi.
Earlier on Saturday, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval also met with Gabbard to discuss various facets of the India-US relationship.
Meanwhile, India’s concerns over SFJ’s activities remain a critical point in its engagement with US authorities, as the organisation has been designated as an unlawful association under Indian law.
