Indian shooter Sift Kaur Samra wins gold at Asian Shooting Championship

New Delhi, August 26: India’s promising shooter Sift Kaur Samra once again brought glory to the nation by clinching a gold medal at the Asian Shooting Championship held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

Competing in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions individual event, Sift delivered a stellar performance to secure the top podium finish with a score of 459.2 points in the final round.

Yang Yuji of China bagged the silver with 458.8 points, while Misaki Nobata of Japan claimed the bronze with 448.2 points. India’s Ashi Chouksey also reached the final but finished in seventh place.

India’s performance was equally impressive in the team event. The trio of Sift Kaur Samra, Anjum Moudgil, and Ashi Chouksey scored a combined total of 1741 points. Sift contributed 589 points, Anjum 578 points, and Ashi 574 points to secure a strong finish for India.

The Asian Shooting Confederation congratulated all winners and participants for their outstanding performances at the championship.
