Paris, July 25: After a fourth-place finish with 1983 points, the Indian women’s archery team, which consists of Bhajan Kaur, Deepika Kumari, and Ankita Bhakat, advanced directly to the quarterfinals of the competition at the Paris Olympics.

In the Women’s Archery Ranking Round, South Korea topped the list with 2046 points, while China came in second with 1996 points and Mexico placed third with 1986 points.
Ankita Bhakat secured the 11th seed in the women’s archery competition for India, with a season-best score of 666 points, placing her 11th overall.

South Korea’s Lim Sihyeon, who set a world record with 694 points, and Nam Suhyeon, with a personal best of 688 points, were ranked first and second in the women’s archery standings.
In the ranking round, each archer was required to shoot 72 arrows, divided into two halves of 36 arrows each. Each half consists of six sets, with six arrows shot per set.
The top four seeds received direct entry into the quarterfinals.
