Bengaluru, Nov 19: ISRO’s newest communication satellite, GSAT-N2, launched by SpaceX from Cape Canaveral, USA, has been successfully placed into orbit, according to the space agency’s commercial arm, NSIL.
NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) announced on the microblogging platform ‘X’ that the 4,700 kg GSAT-N2 high-throughput (HTS) satellite has been successfully placed into its intended orbit.
“GSAT-N2 weighing 4700 kg has been injected into the desired Geo-synchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) and ISRO’s Master Control Facility (MCF) has taken control of the satellite. Preliminary data indicates satellite in good health,” NSIL posted on X.

NSIL described GSAT-N2 as a demand-driven, 48 Gbps Ka-band high-throughput communication satellite designed to improve broadband services and in-flight connectivity throughout the Indian region.
The launch of the satellite was carried out using SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.
