Jamshedpur, Dec 15: Mystery shrouds the death of a 32-year-old youth whose body was recovered from the Subernarekha river four days after he disappeared from his house in Sonari.
Before leaving the house at Bairjhabra Bustee in Sonari on Monday morning, the deceased, identified as Bhim Singh, had asked one of his family members to keep the water warmed up for the bath.
But ever since the youth left the house, he did not reach home, only his body to be recovered from the Subernarekha river this afternoon.
Bistupur thana area
The body was found floating in the river along Beldi Bustee under the Bistupur thana area.
After the information about the floating body spread across the area, the anxious family members went over there and identified it to be of Bhim’s only.
After Bhim Singh had gone missing, the family members searched for him everywhere, and when they could not trace him, they lodged a missing person report with the Sonari thana on Tuesday.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for postmortem.
OC, Sonari Thana, Vishnu Raut said the reason behind the youth’s death is yet to be ascertained.
Autopsy report
“Whether it is a murder case or something else could be conclusively said after getting the autopsy report only,” said the OC while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
The OC, Raut, however, quoted the deceased’s younger brother as saying that his brother had been suffering from depression for the past few months, suggesting that he might have committed suicide.
The family members suspect it to be a murder case as the deceased’s body was found in the river after the deceased had come out of the house asking one of the family members to keep warmed water for him like he used to do every morning while taking a bath.
Bhim Singh would work at a private company’s office in the Circuit House Area in Bistupur, where he goes to the office in the morning.
