JEE Main 2026: Jamshedpur students excel, Mukul Mahto tops with 99.96 percentile

 

Jamshedpur, April 21: Jamshedpur witnessed an impressive academic performance as the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the JEE Main 2026 Session–2 results. Students from the Steel City stood out with high percentiles and strong national rankings, highlighting discipline and consistent preparation.

Mukul Mahto Tops City with 99.96 Percentile

Mukul Mahto emerged as the city topper, securing an exceptional 99.96 percentile along with an All India Rank (AIR) of 620. His performance sets a high benchmark for engineering aspirants in the region.

Sarthak Singh and Abhinav Aditya Secure Top Ranks
Sarthak Singh secured the second position in Jamshedpur with a 99.928 percentile and AIR 1222. Abhinav Aditya followed closely, claiming the third position with an impressive 99.79 percentile.

The city’s competitive academic environment was evident from the performance of other top candidates. Ayan Singh secured the fourth position (AIR 4446), followed by Pranshu Verma at fifth with a 99.721 percentile (AIR 4563).

Soham Dolu (AIR 5363), Akshat Agarwal (99.606 percentile, AIR 6421), Karan Yadav (99.60 percentile, AIR 6430), Pratyush Mishra (AIR 7637), and Naman Agarwal (AIR 7771) completed the top 10 list.

540 Students Qualify for JEE Advanced 2026

A total of 540 candidates from Jamshedpur have qualified for JEE Advanced 2026, reflecting the city’s strong academic ecosystem and effective mentorship.

The NTA announced category-wise cut-off percentiles for JEE Advanced eligibility. The general category cut-off stands at 93.41 percentile. For other categories, the cut-offs are 82.41 (EWS), 80.92 (OBC), 63.91 (SC), and 52.01 (ST).

Qualified candidates will now appear for JEE Advanced 2026, to be conducted by IIT Roorkee on May 17. Registrations will begin on April 23 and close on May 2. Admit cards will be released on May 11, and results are expected on June 1.

Focus on Preparation and Mentorship

Students credited their success to consistent effort, structured preparation, and guidance from teachers. With the next stage approaching, aspirants are preparing for one of the most competitive engineering entrance exams in India.
