Jharkhand artists mesmerize audience at Baidyanath Mahotsav

Deoghar, March 7: Local artists of Jharkhand captivated the audience with their mesmerizing performances during the three-day Rajkiya Baidyanath Mahotsav, which began with great fanfare at KK Stadium on Thursday evening.

The event was a spectacular showcase of the region’s rich cultural heritage, with performances that kept VIP guests and the audience on the edge of their seats from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm.

Performances that Stole the Show

Sumit Das enchanted the crowd with his performance of the ‘Damru Dance’ dedicated to Lord Shiva, while Mansi Tiwari earned widespread praise for her soulful rendition of devotional songs.

The Mahalakshmi Group’s Kathak dance performance and Pallavi Roy’s Bharat Natya left a lasting impression on the audience.

The Chhayu Kala Kendra from Saraikela Kharsawa became a major highlight with its stunning Chhau dance performance.

Bhojpuri folk dancer Chandan Tiwari and Bollywood rock star Rituraj Tiwari also added to the cultural extravaganza with their vibrant performances, keeping the crowd engaged throughout.

Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar, impressed by the performances, emphasized the rich tradition of folk arts and culture in Jharkhand.

He highlighted that the Rajkiya Baidyanath Mahotsav aims to promote and provide a platform for folk artists, enabling them to raise awareness about the state’s traditional arts and culture.

Tourism Minister Inaugurates Mahotsav

Earlier in the evening, Jharkhand’s Minister for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Sudivya Kumar, officially inaugurated the three-day Rajkiya Baidyanath Mahotsav.

In his address, the minister praised the performances of the local artists and remarked that the Mahotsav showcases the cultural prosperity and religious diversity of Jharkhand. He added that from next year, the event would be organized on a grander scale with the tourism department’s support.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Dumka MP Nalin Soren, Deoghar MLA Suresh Paswan, Sarath MLA Uday Shankar Singh, Deoghar District Board Chairman Kiran Kumari, and Santhal Pargana Commissioner Lal Chand Dadel.
