Jharkhand badminton teams announced for East Zone Championship

Dhanbad, Aug 28: The Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) has announced the state teams (men’s, women’s, under-19 boys and girls) badminton teams for the upcoming East Zone Inter-State Championship, scheduled to be held in Jamshedpur from September 4 to 7.

General Secretary K. Prabhakar Rao said the teams were finalized based on players’ performances in the State Championship-cum-Selection Trials held at Hazaribagh from August 22 to 24.

Winners and runners-up in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across different categories have been selected.

Senior Men’s Team

• Singles:
  • Winner – Krish Dubey (East Singhbhum)
  • Runner-up – Akash Pandit (Giridih)
  • Semi-finalists – Suraj Pratap Singh (East Singhbhum), Harshit Raj (Gumla)
• Doubles:
  • Winners – Harshit Raj & Nirmal Keshri (Gumla/Ranchi)
  • Runners-up – Kirtan Agarwal & Ronak Negi (Ranchi)
• Mixed Doubles:
  • Winners – Safi Akram & Sarah Sharma (Ranchi/East Singhbhum)

Senior Women’s Team

• Singles:
  • Winner – Manisha Rani Tirkey (Ranchi)
  • Runner-up – Sarah Sharma (East Singhbhum)
  • Semi-finalists – Samriddhi Hembrom (Deoghar), Anamika Ghosh (Dhanbad)
• Doubles:
  • Winners – Ananya Singh & Manisha Rani Tirkey (Ranchi)
  • Runners-up – Aparajita & Prajukta Chakraborty (Hazaribagh)
• Mixed Doubles:
  • Winners – Safi Akram & Sarah Sharma (Ranchi/East Singhbhum)
