Ranchi, Feb 13: Captain Karamjit Singh Bakshi, who was martyred in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, was given a final farewell in Hazaribagh. His last journey began from his ancestral home and proceeded to Muktidham, drawing a massive crowd. People lined the streets, showering flowers on his mortal remains and chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. As a mark of respect, businesses across the city remained closed during the procession. Citizens from all walks of life paid tribute to the brave martyr, saluting him along the way.

Father Performs the Final Rites

Following the designated route, Captain Karamjit’s funeral procession reached Muktidham, where army personnel and local police officers honoured him with a ceremonial salute. His father then performed the last rites, bidding farewell to his son with immense pride and grief. Several dignitaries, including Hazaribagh Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay, SP Arvind Kumar Singh, and Sadar MLA Pradeep Prasad, attended the funeral to pay their respects.
