Ranchi, Aug. 23: Thousands of BJP activists and leaders on Friday marched towards the CM’s residence, only to be stunted midway by the police who fired water cannons and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the mob.

Amid heightened security arrangements, the saffron party workers, led by leaders such as Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, Amar Baouri and Deepak Prakash started the “Jan Akrosh rally’ from the Morhabadi ground.

The protest march was organised against the alleged failure of the Hemant Soren government in fulfilling the promises made to youth during the 2019 assembly elections.

A number of the BJP and BYJM leaders and activists, took ill after tear gas shells landed near them. Lower Bazar police station officer in charge Dayanand Kumar was also injured during the scuffle with the protesters.

All the top leaders of the state BJP were present at this rally. Along with this, there has been a huge gathering of youths from across the state. Through this rally, the top leaders of the state BJP were targeting the Hemant government and were working to instil enthusiasm among the workers.

BJP workers broke the barricading on the road coming from Shibu Soren’s residence.

BJP workers also pelted stones at the police. Police also used rocket firecrackers to disperse the crowd. Tear gas shells also fell on the stage. Due to this, the eyes of the people gathered on the ground burnt.

BJP leaders target Hemant Soren govt

Arjun Munda said the Soren government is so immersed in family politics that it removed a tribal Chief Minister. “In this family party, there is no respect for outsiders. They have no concern for the tribals. People are not getting the benefit of the tap water scheme. This government is only doing fraud in the name of the scheme. JPSC-JSSC is conducting the examination, but the paper is getting leaked. Even if the merit list is coming out, it has no importance. The result of JPSC has not been released yet. The government is waiting to tamper with it and divide it,” he said.

Munda said the government had announced local policy and employment policy. “The government had talked about giving 75% employment in the private sector. But the government is not in a position to tell how many people got employment. Not a single criminal was punished in 60,000 rape cases,” he said.

The former chief minister said Hemant Soren’s government is following the footsteps of West Bengal. “Attempts are being made to create Bengal-like conditions in the state,” he said and added that we have come to get justice for the people of this state.

Hemant govt is scared: Sanjay Seth

Union Minister of State for defence Sanjay Seth said that Hemant Soren’s government is scared of the roar of the youth. He said that he had never seen such a scared government in his life.

“The state government had promised to give jobs to 5 lakh youth. The government had said that it would leave the throne if jobs were not given. The public has gathered here to demand this answer. The public has come to demand an account of the atrocities being committed against tribals and women in the state,” Seth said.

This government loves Bangladeshi intruders: Amar Bauri

Targeting Hemant Soren, Amar Bauri said that this government has set a record of atrocities on the youth. “They have worked to sell all the examinations. This government is completely anti-youth. They love Bangladeshi intruders,” he added.
