Ranchi, Oct 5: The BJP today came out with its first chapter of the manifesto for Jharkhand Assembly elections, promising freebies such as ₹2,100 per month under ‘Gogo Didi Yojana’, and LPG cylinders at the rate of Rs 500 and two free cylinders every year under ‘Lakshmi Johar Yojana’.
‘Gogo Didi Yojana’ is said to be an answer to CM Hemant Soren’s ‘Maiyaan Samman Yojana’ under which the ruling government has started giving a Rs 1000 every month and that has earned a huge support base for the JMM in the run-up to assembly elections. Gogo means mother in Santhali.
Election manifesto is ‘Panchpran’
Releasing the manifesto, christened as ‘Panchpran’ BJP state president Babulal Marandi promised to launch assured employment in the state, under which it will create 5 lakh self-employment opportunities for the youth in Jharkhand in 5 years. “Apart from this, fair and transparent recruitment will be done for 2.87 lakh vacant government posts. To ensure this, the recruitment process will be started in the first cabinet meeting itself, which will lead to the completion of 1.5 lakh recruitments by November 2025. Apart from this, an annual calendar will be introduced, which will include all the existing examinations in a single exam,” he added.
Rs 2000 stipend for unemployed youth
Marandi said the BJP will address the challenges of the youth who are struggling to start their career. “For this, we will give Yuva Sathi Allowance of Rs 2,000 per month for two years to every graduate and postgraduate youth. This will help them meet their studies and career expenses like books and coaching fees,” he added.
Free sand for houses
The BJP also pledged to launch Ghar Saakar in the state, under which it will provide free sand for the construction of houses to improve the misgovernance of the JMM government and ensure quality housing for all and will build 21 lakh houses and provide increased assistance of ₹ 1 lakh to each by fully implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In addition, tap water connection will be provided to 59 lakh houses through the Jal Jeevan Mission by 2027.
Union Minister and State Election In-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan, State Election Co-In-charge and Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, State In-charge Dr Laxmikant Vajpayee, Union Minister Annapurna Devi, former Union Minister Arjun Munda, Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, and State Media In-charge Shivpujan Pathak were present on the occasion.
Marandi justifies allowance for women
Justifying the Rs 2100 monthly allowance for women, Babulal Marandi said the BJP is continuously working for the empowerment of mothers and sisters. “BJP and PM Modi government gave 33% reservation to mothers and sisters. This led to reservation of seats for women in the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha,” he added.
He pointed out that the BJP started Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. “Free gas cylinders were made available to women. BJP launched Swasth Bharat Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The poor got PM Awas Yojana. 30 crore accounts were opened under PM Matri Garib Yojana, Lakhpati Didi Yojana and Jan Dhan Yojana. BJP started giving bicycles to students,” he pointed out.
Marandi said that the example of these schemes was given only so that people do not feel that the BJP is implementing these schemes after seeing the schemes that Hemant Soren is bringing now.
‘Panchpran’ is a copy-paste of our schemes: JMM
JMM central secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, in the meantime, said the BJP manifesto is a copy-paste of the schemes launched by the JMM government. The JMM ghost always haunts the BJP,” he added.
