Synoptic Overview

The monsoon trough now stretches from Amritsar through Patiala, Muzaffarnagar, Kheri, and Valmiki Nagar, extending towards Arunachal Pradesh near the Himalayan foothills.

An upper air cyclonic circulation lingers over north Bangladesh and adjoining regions, situated between 4.5 and 7.6 Km above sea level, fuelling the current weather instability.

Weather department officials have urged people to remain alert during storm periods, avoid open areas during lightning, and secure loose objects in case of gusty winds.

Farmers and daily commuters have been urged to plan accordingly and stay tuned to weather bulletins.

As per rainfall statistics, Jharkhand was currently facing a rain surplus of 45 % which is quite impressive.
