Ranchi, February 12: The State Cabinet approved the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) conduct rules to appoint assistant professors and admit PhD aspirants in universities, constituent and affiliated colleges (including minority-aided colleges) of Jharkhand.
Conduct rules for law officers
At a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Champai Soren, the Cabinet nodded to amend the Jharkhand Law Officer (Engagement) Rules, 2018. Under new provisions, a lawyer, empanelled by the State government, will not fight cases against the Jharkhand government. Also, it added that a law officer will not be entitled to have more than one wife.
Technical Education Service Rules
It also approved the Jharkhand Technical Education Service Rules, 2023, to recruit teachers and other posts in the Directorate of Education, Government Engineering Colleges and Government Polytechnic Institutes.
Other important decisions:
- Approval was given to implement the “Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme” to provide incentive amounts to the female students of the state for obtaining technical education.
- Approval of the revised estimate of Rs. 114.47 crore for the residence of 11 Cabinet Ministers of the Jharkhand Government under construction under the Ranchi Smart City area.
- Approval was given to adopt and establish the law faculty running in Jamshedpur Co-operative College under Kolhan University, Chaibasa, as Jamshedpur Co-operative Law College.
- Approval was given for the formation of Jharkhand Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Backward Caste/Minority Hostel Nutrition Scheme, 2024, for the construction, operation and management of hostels under the control of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare Department under the state of Jharkhand.
- Approval was given to pay an amount equivalent to the salary of the remaining duty period to the dependents of the Indian Reserve Battalion soldiers/personnel who died in Naxalite/militant incidents while on duty.
