Dhanbad, May 16: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar today assessed the arrangement at booths where low turnout was recorded in previous Dhanbad Lok Sabha elections and directed to restore basic facilities so that voters can cast votes easily.
CEO visits DAV Public School
The CEO in the course of the inspection visited booths based at DAV Public School and Primary School Diamond Crossing of Dhanbad Lok Sabha and directed the district election officials and staff to make such foolproof arrangements that voters do not face any problems on voting day.
“No lethargic approach would be tolerated in election work. Tough action would be taken against election officials and staff if their lethargic approach was found,” said the CEO.
Election on the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled in the 6th phase on May 25.

Voter identity card
The CEO also directed election officials to prepare a separate list of black and white photo-attached voter identity card holders and without photo voter identity cards. He also asked for fresh preparation of the ASD list and timely distribution of the Voters Information Slip.
Speed up poll preparation: CEO
K Ravi Kumar, during his second visit to Dhanbad after the election notification, directed officials to give pace in poll preparation and provide training to volunteers and booths awareness groups.
Earlier after reaching, Dhanbad CEO K Ravi Kumar held a meeting with Dhanbad deputy commissioner cum returning officer Madhvi Mishra and discussed ongoing poll preparation.
General observer K Thavlisan, District Returning officer Madhvi Mishra, Municipal Corporation commissioner Ravi Raj Sharma, deputy electoral officer Kalidas Munda, and DPRO Sunil Singh were also accompanied by the CEO in booth inspection.
