Ranchi, Sept 10: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has assured that all Durga Puja committees across Ranchi and neighbouring areas will receive the full support of the state government, as in previous years. He emphasised that the district administration and Puja organising committees should work in close coordination to ensure the festival is conducted in a peaceful and harmonious environment.
Focus on Ranchi’s transformation into a model city
Reiterating his government’s commitment to urban development, the Chief Minister said that developing Ranchi as a model city remains a top priority. He highlighted that the government is implementing a special action plan to make the city cleaner, more beautiful, and better equipped with public facilities.

“The all-round development of Ranchi requires active participation from both the government and the public. We are continuously adding new initiatives that will give the city a distinct identity in the future,” Soren said.

Delegation meets CM ahead of Durga Puja 2025
A joint delegation of the Mahanagar Durga Puja Committee, District Durga Puja Committee and Shri Mahavir Mandal, Ranchi met Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his official residence on Kanke Road.
The delegation briefed the Chief Minister on preparations for Durgaotsav 2025, noting that around 157 Puja pandals—both large and small—will be organised across Ranchi and surrounding areas. They appreciated the state government’s consistent support, particularly in ensuring uninterrupted electricity, regular water supply and timely city cleaning during the festive period.
Invitation extended to CM and family
On the occasion, the delegation extended a cordial invitation to Hemant Soren and his family to visit the Puja pandals and seek the blessings of Maa Durga. The members also presented him with an idol of Maa Durga, Chunari and Angvastra as a token of respect.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, noting that the opportunity to meet him before the festival each year helps build stronger coordination between the state government, district administration and Puja committees, ensuring timely resolution of challenges.
