Ranchi, June 11: Chief Minister Champai Soren today asked the top brass of the State to stop crime and illegal mining in the State at all costs.
In a marathon meeting with administrative and police officers from across Jharkhand, Soren stressed that better law and order determines the image and direction of the State.
“A better image is created. This gives a new dimension to development. It also determines the condition and direction of the state. This is the reason why strengthening law and order is a special priority of the government. Better maintenance of law and order is possible with the cooperation of all of you,” he said.

On this occasion, he gave many important instructions after a high-level review of law and order, crime and extremism control, action against illegal mining, drug and liquor smuggling and sale and matters related to forest, excise and land revenue.

Tighten the noose on illegal mining at all costs

The Chief Minister said that the image of the state has been affected due to illegal mining. “The government is very serious about stopping illegal mining. All necessary steps should be taken to stop illegal mining and its transportation, especially of coal, sand, iron ore and stone,” he added.

Who were present?

Chief Secretary L. Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary Home Department Vandana Dadel, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal, concerned departmental secretaries, all divisional commissioners, all zonal IGs, DIGs, Deputy Commissioners of all districts, Senior Superintendents of Police, Superintendents of Police and other senior officials were present at the meeting.

The nature of crime is also changing

The Chief Minister said that there is a lot of diversity in the state of Jharkhand. “Somewhere there is forest and somewhere there are mines. In some areas, industries are predominant, while in some places people are dependent on agriculture. Similarly, there is a lot of diversity in crime as per the circumstances here. The nature of crime is also changing every day. In such a situation, the challenge of the police also increases. In such a situation, your working style and strong information system will prove to be very effective in controlling crime,” he said.
He said that along with dealing with the current challenges of crime, they should also make a strategy to deal with future challenges.

Use modern technology to deal with crime

The Chief Minister said that today there are many such latest technologies, through which crime can be understood and controlled. “Police need to always remain updated with such modern technology,” he said and asked the police officers to study the arrangements for law and order in other states so that if it is needed according to the conditions of Jharkhand, it can be used. He also emphasized on improving the traffic system.

Better coordination between DC and SP will give better results

The Chief Minister said that law and order and crime control get strengthened only by better coordination between DC and SP in any district. He said that better results come from better coordination between DC and SP. “This gives impetus to development,” he added.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that all the officers of the state will give better results in law and order and all other matters with their better working style. He assured that the government would provide all the resources and requirements to maintain law and order.
