THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

Ranchi, Jan 22:  Chief Minister Hemant Soren today handed over job offer letters to 2500 youth in various textile companies operating in the State.

Addressing a programme organised at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Khelgaon Ranchi, today Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that when our government was formed, we could not even expand the cabinet properly and an epidemic like Corona infection engulfed the country and the world.

“The Covid infection was so frightening and scary that the entire country and the world came to a standstill. The country had never seen a global challenge of this kind before. This type of global infection is most painful for backward and poor states,” he said.

“İt was like a curse for the poor, labourers and needy. Everyone was forced to remain locked inside their homes. All means of employment were closed during the lockdown. In such a situation, migrant labourers suffered the most because they became homeless,” he added.

Made better management system in Corona infection

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand became the first state in the country to bring migrant labourers back home through various means including airplanes during the lockdown. Many industries were closed due to the lockdown which have not recovered till date, he added.

“The effect of Corona infection is still visible somewhere. Even in such adverse situations, our government has shown the example of better management by keeping the residents of the state and migrant labourers safe without any hesitation. During the global pandemic, our government officials kept looking for a way to save the people here,” he said.

“The state government and the Didis of the women’s group reached every village panchayat and fed people and provided food grains at their homes. Our women sisters have also played an important role in dealing with Covid,” he added.

Jharkhand’s mineral wealth enlightens other states

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that as soon as the fog of Corona infection cleared, the state government made a better strategy for employment generation and tried to make the farmers, poor and needy including laborers returned from other states self-reliant by connecting them with many schemes.

He said that for more than 100 years, the work of extracting mineral wealth has been done in Jharkhand, but the people of the state did not get the full benefit of the mineral wealth here, but the houses of the people of other states were illuminated with our mineral wealth.

He stated that the coal of this state illuminated other states and Jharkhand was forced to live in darkness. “Apart from mineral wealth, our government also explored possibilities in many different sectors and created employment.”

Rule for 75% jobs in private sector for locals

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the state government has added the textile industry in Jharkhand by making an excellent industry policy. The state government and textile industry people appointed 75% of the local people in their institutions as promised. Along with the state government, people from the textile industry have also worked step by step to provide employment to the needy people.

He said that in the last one and a half years, the state government has done the work of providing appointments to more than 50 thousand young men and women in the private sector.

He added that earlier the youth of villages used to prepare for army jobs, but in the present times, recruitments in the army have also stopped. “Those children from villages who used to get education while living in the city used to prepare for jobs in banks and railways, but due to a wrong policy, jobs in banks and railways have decreased today. Many central government enterprises have now gone into private hands, which is why government jobs are decreasing.

He said that by making a good industrial policy, our government has made a rule to provide employment to 75% of the local people in the industries established in the state.

Schemes suitable for tribals and natives

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that all the schemes made by the state government have been made according to the abilities and capabilities of the tribals and natives here whether the plan is for women or men.

He said that the women of the state are gradually becoming skilled and self-reliant. The women here also have an important contribution in strengthening the economy of the state. All the women present in this indoor stadium today have become self-reliant in some way or the other, he added.

He appealed to all the women present to join the schemes of the state government and become self-employed. The Chief Minister said that if you yourself get involved in self-employment, then in the future you can also get other people involved in employment. The present state can become economically strong by connecting with various systems of the government.

Despite many challenges and adverse circumstances, the government has launched the Abua Housing Scheme for the people deprived of permanent houses. The government will start giving the benefits of this scheme to the eligible people after a day or two.

He said that children of tribals, Dalits, backward classes and minorities are now going to study abroad for education. The state government is providing 100% scholarships to the children studying abroad.

He stated that the state government thinks that the children here should also become doctors, engineers, lawyers, judges and other government officers after getting educated. For this purpose, the Guruji Credit Card Scheme is being operated.
