Ranchi, April 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday distributed appointment letters to 62 Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and 237 Lady Supervisors under the Department of Women, Child Development, and Social Security. The ceremony was held at the Jharkhand Secretariat.
Boost to Departmental Efficiency
The Chief Minister said that these appointments will strengthen the department’s functioning and improve the implementation of welfare schemes across the state, especially in remote areas.

Highlighting the importance of women’s participation, Soren said that women are playing a vital role in the development of families, society, and the state. He expressed confidence that the newly appointed officers will carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and sensitivity.

Focus on Malnutrition-Free Jharkhand
The Chief Minister stressed the need for collective efforts to eliminate malnutrition in the state. He noted that many children continue to suffer from malnutrition and called it a serious concern that must be addressed urgently. He urged the newly appointed officials to work towards eradicating malnutrition at the grassroots level.
Soren emphasised that government schemes must reach even the most remote and underdeveloped areas. He said ensuring last-mile delivery is essential for inclusive growth and improving the lives of marginalised communities.
Call for Transparency and Coordination
The Chief Minister underlined the importance of transparency, accountability, and coordination among officials. He directed the department to regularly assess the performance of field workers, including Anganwadi staff, CDPOs, and supervisors, and encourage those who perform well.

To improve coordination and outreach, the government has provided mobile phones and tablets to field-level functionaries. This step aims to enhance communication and ensure effective delivery of schemes in both rural and urban areas.
Soren assured that the government will address employees’ concerns and continue to take steps to strengthen governance. He urged the newly appointed officers to discharge their duties with honesty, dedication, and responsibility.
