Ranchi, March 11: Chief Minister Champai Soren gave a big gift to the students and launched the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme and Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme.
At a function organised at Harivansh Tana Bhagat Stadium in Khelgaon, Soren said poor children of Jharkhand do not have to worry about money for education. “The government is ready to provide financial help to ensure children progress in shaping their future,” he added.
Government will become guarantor
The chief minister said that children will no longer need to mortgage anything to get higher education, and they will not have to give any guarantee for financial help.
“The government will become the guarantor. Under the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme, students will get up to Rs 15 lakh in education loans. They will also get many concessions from the government,” he said.
This scheme aims to offer financial aid from the State Government to students who have successfully completed their Class 10th education in a recognized school within Jharkhand. Additionally, students who have completed their Class 10th and Class 12th education from recognised schools in the state are also eligible for this support, which is intended to assist them in pursuing undergraduate and higher-level courses.

Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme
“Under the Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme, female students will be given an incentive of Rs 15 thousand per year for diploma-level courses and Rs 30 thousand per year for B.Tech courses,” he said.
Free Coaching
The chief minister said that the government is providing financial help to the state’s children to prepare for various examinations and courses.
“In this connection, under the Chief Minister Education Promotion Scheme, free coaching is provided to students preparing for various examination competitions. The government also bears the expenses of accommodation and food. At the same time, the state government gives 100 per cent scholarships to students in Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward, and Minority categories for higher education abroad.
On this occasion, 1,200 students got Guruji Credit Card. 900 female students benefited from the Manki Munda Scholarship Scheme.
He also launched the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme portal.
A new web portal for the Jharkhand Science Technology and Innovation Council was also launched.
MoU with Central Co-operative Bank Dhanbad and HDFC Bank
The Higher Education and Technical Department signed an MoU with Central Co-operative Bank Dhanbad and HDFC Bank regarding the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme.
The Jharkhand Science Technology and Innovation Council and the National Innovation Foundation of India signed an MoU.
A newly constructed 3-D theatre was inaugurated at Regional Science Center Ranchi.
Better environment for education
The chief minister said that the government is continuously working to create a better environment for education in the state. “Many schemes are underway to ensure that children of all sections of this state get a chance to get better and higher education. Unless the children here achieve good levels of education, they cannot move forward in this state. In such a situation, the education system is being strengthened for children’s better future,” he said.
Efforts to bring children into mainstream
The chief minister said that Jharkhand is a poor state. “Due to financial difficulties, the children of tribal and indigenous families here are deprived of getting higher education. In such a situation, the government is providing financial assistance through various schemes to provide higher education to these poor tribal and indigenous children,” he said.
The chief minister said he is working to integrate his state’s children into the mainstream by providing them with good education.

Efforts to fulfil children’s dreams
Soren said that the government is standing with our poor children towards fulfilling their dreams for their future. “The government will provide financial support to those children who are moving forward with the idea of becoming engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc., but financial constraints are creating hindrances so that they can achieve a good position through education and make their mark with the state,” he pointed out.
