Ranchi, Feb 16: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) has held the government responsible for the tragic New Delhi Railway Station stampede and demanded the resignation of the railway minister for mismanagement.

Senior Congress leaders Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Dr. Rajesh Gupta Chhotu, Sanjeet Yadav, Abhishek Sahu, Firoz Rizvi Munna, Kumud Ranjan, and others paid tribute to the victims at Ambedkar Chowk, Doranda. They also mourned those lost in the Prayagraj arson and other similar incidents, observing a two-minute silence.

Government’s Failure in Crowd Management

State General Secretary Alok Kumar Dubey criticized the Indian Railways for failing to manage the Maha Kumbh pilgrimage rush. He argued that the government should have arranged special trains, increased train frequency, and ensured better crowd control at railway stations. He called for the Railway Minister’s immediate resignation, citing the failure to ensure passenger safety.

Negligence or Massacre?

Chief Spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo called the stampede not an accident, but a massacre caused by the government’s negligence. He questioned whether the Prime Minister or Railway Minister would take responsibility or blame the public instead.

Holy Festival Turned Election Rally

Senior Congress leader Dr. Rajesh Gupta Chhotu accused the BJP of turning Maha Kumbh into a political spectacle, prioritizing photo ops over public safety. He condemned the government’s indifference while pilgrims struggled in panic and chaos.
