Dhanbad, Feb 16: DAV Public School Koylanagar was declared the overall champion in the inter DAV Schools Kids Wings Competition Jharkhand ‘C ‘group, which was held today.

DAV Koylanagar principal NN Srivastava inaugurated the day-long competition while Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) welfare department head Nirmala Kiran was the guest of honour.

DAV Public School Rangamati Sindri principal Ashutosh Kumar, DAV School Kusunda principal Jhuma Mehta and Karan Srivastava were also present on the occasion as guests.

While welcoming the guests, DAV Public School Koylanagar principal NN Srivastava said that DAV is an institution which focuses not only on students’ academic excellence but also on the development of their arts and skills and character formation.

The children’s group dance based on Shiv Dandav, Sri Ram’s return to Ayodhya, and the famous Babul song of  Bengal became the centre of attraction in the competition.

The chief guest, Karuna Srivastav, highly appreciated the performance of the school children and said that she had not hoped children would produce such a quality display. She also appreciated the efforts of school teachers in preparing and guiding the children.

“I hope the teachers of the DAV group of schools will continue guiding students to excel in the art and culture field in the future, too,” said Karuna Srivastava.

Senior teachers Mausmi Das and Pawan Pandey conducted the function.

Kavita Vikash, Mallicka Chatterjee, Bratin Kahaly, Geeta Choubey, Rina Singh, Arvindra Kumar Patra Manoj Kumar Singh, Sachin Kumar, Indranil Mitra, BK Singh and Anil Kumar, all senior teachers were judges of the competition.

Poetry recitation- 1st DAV Koylanagar, 2nd  DAV Sindri, 3rd DAV Alkusa.

Group Song- 1st DAV Koylanagar,2nd DAV Moonidih, 3rd DAV Lodna

One Act Play- 1st DAV Koylanagar, 2nd DAV Kusunda , 3rd DAV Mugma

Group dance- 1st DAV Koylanagar, 2nd DAV Lodna, 3rd DAV Moonidih.
