Jamshedpur, Nov 18: A decomposed body of a youth was found lying inside a bush near a burial ground under suburban Govindpur Thana area in the steel city on Saturday morning.

The body was later identified as that of Bablu Pingua (25), a resident of Ghodabandha in Govindpur.

Though there was no apparent mark of injury on the body which has been partially wolfed by scavengers, the police suspect it to be a case of murder.

Bablu who would work in a chicken shop at Chhota Govindpur was missing since the Diwali night on November 12, leading his anxious family member to lodge a missing person report with the Govindpur Thana the next day.

On Saturday morning a local resident had spotted a pack of stray dogs bent upon something stinky. A closer look made the person realise that it was a corpse. Then only the news had spread around, ultimately leading the police to know about it.

A police party had subsequently called in the family member of missing Bablu Pingua, thus getting the body identified from the clothes he had put on.

Govindpur Thana OC, Amit Kumar Singh said they cannot outright say it to be a case of murder as the body has been reduced almost to a skeleton.

“A postmortem will unfold whether it is a case of murder or not. Moreover, we are trying to gather the call details from the deceased’s cellphone so that we can find out who had talked to Pingua for the last time and what was his friend circle, ” said the OC while talking to TheJharkhandStory.co.in

Singh, however, said that there is a great degree of chance for it to be a case of murder.
