Dhanbad, July 3: Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Kumar Singh has advised Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro students to use social media judiciously, safely and securely.
The DGP, who was the chief guest at the 38th foundation day function of DPS Bokaro, celebrated at Ashwaghosh Kala Kshetra on Tuesday evening while addressing said that youth play a vital role in nation-building. “It is not just the academic excellence, but also character building and social well-being of every child that makes a nation great,” he said.
Philanthropic efforts of DPS Bokaro
The DGP highly appreciated the philanthropic efforts of DPS Bokaro to run ‘Deepansh Shiksha Kendra’ and ‘Koshish’.
Dr Michael Raj S, Inspector General of Police (IG) North Chotanagpur Zone, and Surendra Kumar Jha, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Coalfield Range, Bokaro were guests of honour. Pujya Prakash, superintendent of police (SP), Bokaro was a special guest.

Aryabhatta Mathematics Competition 2024
On the occasion, the winners of the Aryabhatta Mathematics Competition 2024 from different schools in Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies and certificates.
Students of DPS Bokaro presented colourful cultural programmes and musical renditions.
Over 400 students were felicitated by the guests for a hundred per cent attendance, commending their spirit of regularity.
The school uniform was distributed to the students of the Deepansh Shiksha Kendra – a school run under the aegis of DPS Bokaro to empower children of the marginalised sections of society.
Koshish, a vocational centre for women
On this occasion, the women of Koshish, a vocational centre for women run under the aegis of DPS Bokaro that ensures the financial stability of women of the marginalized sections of society were also felicitated.
‘Career Avenues’, a special magazine of DPS Bokaro to guide youngsters to choose the career of their interest and passion was also released by the guests.
The principal, Dr A S Gangwar, highlighted the school’s achievements and shared that we must always be grateful to our parents and spend quality time with them.
Himani Singh, Vice -Head girl welcomed the guests while Ridhima Kaushal, Cultural Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Mohit, Aavya, Avanya and Shipra conducted the programme.
