Ranchi, March 6: Over 62,000 Para teachers (assistant teachers) in the state will receive either a pay scale or equivalent honorarium payment.
Education Secretary Umashankar Singh assured of this while chairing a joint meeting with the Jharkhand State Assistant Teachers Action Front delegation at Project Bhawan today.
Teachers Service Manual 2021
A Jharkhand State Assistant Teachers Action Front member, Siddique Sheikh, met with the education secretary to discuss amending different proposals of the Jharkhand Assistant Teachers Service Manual 2021 and pay scale.
“After discussion at the meeting, the education secretary informed us that the government is considering all points to give assistant teachers a pay scale. In case of a reservation hurdle, an equivalent honorarium will be paid for the time being,” said Siddique Sheikh.

At the meeting, Jharkhand Education Project director Aditya Ranjan, administrative officer Jayant Mishra, and Giridih Sadar MLA (JMM) Sudivya Kumar Sonu were also present from the government side.
Benefit of provident fund
Education Secretary Umashankar Singh informed the meeting that the government is considering giving assistant teachers the benefit of a provident fund and making them eligible for compensation.
Municipal corporations will issue notifications for a 4% annual increment to assistant teachers. They will also be exempt from getting recommendations from Panchayat and Block authorities for a 4% yearly increment.
“ The education secretary also assured us that we will sort out solutions to assessment examination problems,” said Siddique Sheikh. A meeting will be held soon to discuss the issues.
At the meeting, Assistant Teachers Association leaders Binod Bihari Mahto, Rishikesh Pathak, Binod Tiwary, Vikash Kumar Choudhary, Praduman Singh, Suman Singh, Narayan Mahto, Sushil Kumar Pandey, Niranjan Dey, Belal Ahmed, Birendra Rai, Jhari Lal Mahto Manoj Sharma Simant Ghoshal were also present.
