Jharkhand Elections: Six independent candidates file papers for Dhanbad seat

Dhanbad, May 6: Six independent candidates on Saturday filed their nomination papers for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat.

The candidates who submitted nomination papers were Krishna Chandra Singh Raj, Narayan Giri, Parwej Nayyar, Raji Tiwari, Riyajul Huque and Kameshwar Prasad Verma.

The last date of filing nomination for Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is  May 6 and voting is scheduled on May 25.

With the filing of nomination by six candidates today, a total of 11 persons have submitted their papers for the seat including the nominee of two national alliances,  NDA, I.N.D.I.A  and regional party Marxist Co-ordination Committee ( MCC) so far.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) sum District  Electoral Officer Madhvi Mishra received the nomination papers of the candidates. Additional Collector Binod Kumar, DRDA director Rajiv Ranjan and District Supply Officer  (DSO) Pradip Kumar Shukla were also present on the occasion.
