Dhanbad, May 2: On Thursday, three independent candidates filed their nomination papers for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat.
The independent candidates were Janak Shah, Umesh Paswan and Sanjay Kumar Giri of the Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha. Deputy Commissioner cum district electoral officer Madhvi Mishra received the paper.
The last date for filing the nomination paper for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is May 6. The election is scheduled for May 25.

So far, a total of seven candidates including BJP nominee MLA Dhulu Mahto, Congress nominee Anupama Singh, Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC) nominee Jagdish Rawani, People’s Party of India nominee Dipak Kumar Das and Prem Prakash Paswan have filed nomination papers.
Besides the DC, additional collector Binod Kumar, DRDA director Rajiv Ranjan, and district supply officer Pradip Kumar Shukla were also present.
