Jharkhand: Electricity deptt urges people not to dump garbage beneath transformers

Executive engineer Santosh Kumar

Daltonganj, May 19: Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department Santosh Kumar has appealed to residents not to dump garbage beneath transformer poles, warning that the practice poses a serious threat to both public safety and electrical infrastructure.

Burning garbage poses danger to transformers

Kumar said garbage accumulated near transformers is often set on fire, and sparks from the burning waste can easily reach the transformers, creating a major risk of damage and electrical accidents.

“Garbage dumped beneath transformers is hazardous for both life and the environment,” the executive engineer said.
